The revised BUK KANO academic calendar is designed to span approximately one year. All academic and non-academic activities have been meticulously scheduled within the approved timeframe, as directed by the university’s management.

The Senate of Bayero University Kano University convened an emergency meeting on Thursday, September 29th, 2023, during which they ratified the adjusted academic calendar for the 2022-2023 academic sessions as outlined below:
At its emergency meeting held on Friday, September 29th, 2023, the Senate extensively deliberated on the calendar for the 2023/2024 academic session and subsequently approved the following revision
Undergraduate Programmes Academic Calendar
- Monday 15th July to Saturday 5th October, 2024 – First Semester Lectures (13 weeks)
- Monday 26th to 30th August, 2024 – Mid Semester Break (1 week)
- Monday 7th October to 9th November, 2024 – First Semester Examinations (4 weeks)
- Monday 28th October to Sunday 3rd November, 2024 – Semester Break (1 week)
- Monday 18th November to Saturday 15th February, 2025 – Second Semester Lectures (13 weeks)
- Monday 30th December 2024 to 3rd January, 2025 – Mid Semester Break (1 week)
- Monday 17th February to 15th March, 2025 – Second Semester Examinations (4 weeks)
- Monday 3rd May, 2025 – End of Session
