To apply for the form you must have met the following requirements;

The following constitute the minimum entry requirements to FUTA postgraduate programmes:


  1.  Federal University of Technology Akure first degree, with at least Third Class, in the relevant /related subject or from any other recognized University.
  2. An HND or any other recognized qualification in the relevant/related subject.
  3. A professional qualification in a related discipline acceptable by the Senate of Ambrose Alli University.


  1. A graduate of Federal University of Technology Akure in the relevant subject with a minimum of second class or from other recognized university with at least a 2.75 CGPA on the scale of 5.00.
  2. A graduate with Honor degree and an appropriate PGD with at least Upper Credit pass.
  3. An HND holder from any recognized institution with at least Credit Pass and at least an Upper Credit pass of PGD in the relevant areas.


  1. A Federal University of Technology Akure graduate or from other recognized University and having Academic Master’s degree appropriate for the proposed area of study.
  2. Candidate may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/undergo a probationary period not exceeding one academic session.


Photocopies of NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificates, photocopies of all qualifying credentials, including O’level must be attached to the completed application forms. Candidates should arrange for their transcripts to be sent directly to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies. Non-receipt of transcripts in time is at the detriment of the applicant.


Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

  1. Full-Time Diploma: Minimum of one academic sessionand a maximum of two.

Masters Degree Programmes

  1. Full-Time: A minimum of two academic sessionsand a maximum of three.

Ph.D Programme

  1. Full-Time: A minimum of three academic sessionsand a maximum of five.

How To Apply for FUTA Postgraduate Admission Form

Step 1 – Candidates should process their application on-line at the University’s website (http//www.futa.edu.ng), (www.arcsstee.org.ng), and (https://afrigist.org/) using the REMITA method with payment made to the School of Postgraduate Studies account.

Step 2 – Application forms for postgraduate programmes are sold for N20,000.00 (Ph.D), N20,000.00 (Masters), and N20,000.00 (PGD) only

Step 3 – Specifically, Ph.D candidates should send their Research Proposal to spgsadmissions@futa.edu.ng using surname_school/dept.doc e.g. Ojo_sos/che.researchproposal

Step 4 – Non–FUTA graduates are requested to print out Transcript Label attached to the Application Form and request their institutions to forward their official academic transcripts to the address below with the Transcript Label (indicating the target Department) latest SIX (6) weeks from the date of this advertisement.
