Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), formerly known as University of Ife, is a federal government owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is located in Ife-Ife, an ancient Yoruba city in Osun State, southwestern Nigeria. The university was founded in 1961 and classes commenced in October 1962.
In this post aside listing all OAU courses available in the institution, I will also be guiding you through their entry admission requirements as well as the all you need to know before selecting a course of study in Obafemi Awolowo University.
Below is the list of what to look out for before choosing a course in OAU.
- The Admission Requirements.
- The Subject combination for your course.
- Cut-Off Mark for the course.
The above are the 3 most important factors that can determine if you will be admitted to study your chosen course in OAU or not.
I will breakdown the above 3 factors before listing the following according to the faculties they are categorized at OAU:
- List of all Art Courses offered in OAU.
- List of all Science courses offered in OAU.
- List of all Medical Related Courses offered in OAU.
- List of all Social and Management courses offered by the Obafemi Awolowo University.
Now I will breakdown the 3 factors that you must take cognizance of when searching for courses offered in OAU.
OAU Admission Requirements
OAU admission requirements is the first step you must take note of when searching for available courses in OAU. At OAU and other tertiary institutions, courses offered have their distinct entry requirements. However, some requirements are the same for courses under the same faculty. In OAU for example, you must have obtained at least 5 credit passes in your O’level result which must include mathematics and English language and three other subjects as it relates to your course of study. Note that some courses do not require a Credit in mathematics as a requirement for admission.
Correct Subject Combination
Using the correct subject combination for your course saves you a lot of costs and challenges in the area of obtaining a new change of course and institution form. For example, studying a course require at least 5 credit passes in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC, NECO or its equivalents. Making use of the subjects required for the course is what I mean by making use of the correct subject combination.
Course Cut Off Mark
After confirmation of the admission requirements and correct subject combination for your course, you are to check the course cut off mark. Oftentimes candidates seeking admission into OAU search for OAU courses and their cut off mark, some rephrase by checking for courses offered in OAU and their cut off marks. These show how important cut off marks can be in relation to courses offered.
In summary of the above, you must confirm the admission entry requirements, subject combination for your course and minimum OAU cut off mark for the course in the previous session as a guide to selecting the course if you must study such in the Obafemi Awolowo University.
Having noted the above, it’s time to list the courses offered in OAU.
