1.0    GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENT

All candidates must have credit passes at O’level including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for all courses in Engineering. For other courses, candidates must possess five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two other relevant subjects at O’level.

2.0  OTHER NECESSARY INFORMATION

  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
    1. All candidates must meet matriculation requirements including O’level credit passes in English language and mathematics and any other related subjects as required by the Department.
    2. Holders of HND with credit or above in its relevant Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, FIST, FIMT, FMILT, FNIST may also qualify for admission.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from OAUor any other recognized universities with at least a third class honours
  1. A good Bachelor’s Degree with at least second class honours in other related disciplines.

3.0 MASTERS: M.SC, M.ENG, M.TECH AND MPH

Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Engineering (M.Eng), Master of Technology (M.Tech) and Master of Public Health (MPH) programmes must possess any of the following in addition to O’Level Credit Passes in English Language and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/Institute:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) qualification in the related area from OAUor from any other recognized University.
  2. A Bachelors degree from a recognized University plus a PGD of not less than 50 CGPA on a 5-point scale and a 50 CGPA on a 4- point scale in the relevant area.

However, for M.Sc. in Financial Management Technology and Management Technology candidates must possess O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two subjects from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Geography.

3.1 M.SC IN OPTOMETRY

  1. Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc) in Optometry programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  2. A Doctor of Optometry (O.D) degree with a minimum of 50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 2.00 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the related area from OAUor from any other recognized University.
  3. Completion of one year internship programme and NYSC

3.2 Ph.D IN OPTOMETRY

  1. Candidates applying for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Optometry programme with options in Clinical Optometry, Vision Science and Ocular Health must possess the following in addition to O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  2. A master of Science (M.Sc) degree from any recognized University within or outside Nigeria with a CGPA of 2.50 and above on a 00 scale and 3.50 and above on a 00 scale for options in Clinical Optometry, Vision Science and Ocular Health respectively.
  3. Completion of one year internship programme and NYSC
  4. Meet other requirements of the Postgraduate School of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

3.3. M.SC IN GENDER STUDIES

Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc) in Gender Studies programme must possess any of the following:

  1. Higher National Diploma (HND) Upper Credit or above plus PGD in Gender Studies
  2. Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline from OAUor any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours plus a PGD in Gender Studies.
  3. A good Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours in other related disciplines.

3.4  O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR GENDER STUDIES

O’level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in addition to any other three subjects as follows:

  1. Gender and       Development      Studies/Entrepreneurship (Economics, Government or History, Commerce, Geography).
  2. Gender and Science/Global Health (Chemistry, Biology, Physics)
  3. Gender and Technology (Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science).
  4. Gender and Agricultural Technology (Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology and Food Nutrition or Home Economics).

4.0 MPH IN PUBLIC HEALTH TECHNOLOGY

Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health (MPH) in Public Health Technology programme with Options in Infections Diseases and Global Health programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

  • A degree in Public Health (MPH) with a Minimum of 50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 2.00CGPA on a 4-point scale in the related area, from OAUor from any other recognized University.
  • Completion of one year internship programme and NYSC
  • DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN PUBLIC HEALTH TECHNOLOGY Candidates applying for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Public Health Technology   Programme   with    Options   in    Infections Diseases and Global Health programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  • A Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree from any recognized University within or outside Nigeria with a CGPA of 50 and above on a 0 scale or 3.50 and above on a 5.0 scale.

5.0    M.Sc IN INSTITUTE OF EROSION STUDIES

  1. Candidates applying for the Master of Science in Institute of Erosion Studies with option in Integrated Watershed Management and Urban Drainage System and Management must possess any of the following in addition to English and Mathematics and the Basic Matriculation requirements of the Department.
  2. A first degree with at least a second class honours qualification with a minimum of 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 2.00 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the related area from OAUor from any other recognized
  3. A Bachelors degree from a recognized University plus a PGD of not class than 50 CGPA on a 5-point scale and a 2.00 CGPA on a 0-point scale in the relevant area.

5.01. Ph.D IN INSTITUTE OF EROSION STUDIES

  1. Candidates applying for the Doctor of Philosophy in Institute of Erosion Studies with options in Integrated Watershed Management and Urban Drainage System Management must possess any of the following in addition to English and Mathematics and the basic matriculation requirements of the Department.
  2. A Master’s degree with a CGPA of 50 on a 5.00point scale or 50 on a 4.0 point scale or its equivalent in the relevant areas from OAUor any recognized University.
  3. Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognize/approve.

6.00    CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL STANDARDS OAU CE-sPESS)

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Each of the three programmes Procurement Management Environmental standards and social standards offers the following:

  1. i) Procurement Management:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Procurement Management Master of Science (M.Sc), Procurement Management

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Environmental Standards

iii) Master  of  Science  (M.Sc)   in   environmental  Standards  has  the Following for specializations:

  1. Sc Livelihood and Environmental Resource Management
  2. Sc Environmental Risk Assessment and Management
  3. Sc Geographic and Environmental Information System
  4. Sc Climate Change and Natural Resource Management

iii) Social Standards

  1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Social Standards Master of Science (M.Sc) Social Standards

7.00    GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Applicants must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements of five (5) credits passes ‘O’level subjects including Mathematics English, Physics, Chemistry, and one other Science subject.

1. Postgraduate Diploma Admission Requirements

Candidate with the following qualifications are eligible for admission provided they meet the UME requirements for admission into Electrical/Electronic Engineering undergraduate program.

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least a Lower Credit.
  • Sc, B.Eng or B.Tech in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with at least a pass degree.
  • HND in Communication Engineering (COE), Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE), and Power System Engineering (PSE) with at least Lower
  • Sc, B.Eng, or B.Tech in Communication Engineering, Electronic and Computer Engineering and Power System Engineering with at least a pass degree.
  • Other related disciplines may be approved by the University.

2. Master (M.Eng) Degree Admission Requirements

  • All applicants must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements of five
    • credit passes in five subject including Mathematics, English and here Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subjects).
  • A Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or other fields relevant to the programe from an accredited University with a minimum of second class Honours lower-division with CGPA of not less than 50 on a 5-point scale or 2.00 on a 4-point scale from a recognized University.
  • A Bachelors Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or other field relevant to the program from an accredited University with second class Honours lower division and a CGPA of not less than 50 or third class, in addition to a Post Bachelor Degree (PGD) in a relevant field of study from an accredited University.
  • Any other qualifications as may be approved by the University

3. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degree Admission Requirements

  • All applicants must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements of five
    • credit passes in five subjects including mathematics, English and three Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject).
  • A Masters Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or other relevant field of study from an accredited University with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a scale of 5.0 or its
  • Any other qualifications as may be approved by the University

8.0 MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)

Candidates applying for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’Level Credit Passes in English and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department:

  1. A good Honours Degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Management Technology from OAUor from any other recognized
  2. Graduates with Bachelors degree from a recognized University with at least a third class qualification.
  3. Higher National Diploma (HND) lower credit or above plus a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant field may apply for the MBA
  4. A Bachelors degree in other fields plus a PGD in a relevant discipline.

However, for MBA in Financial Management Technology and Management Technology, candidates must possess O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two subjects from Physics, Agricultural Science, and Geography.

9.0 DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D)

Candidates applying for the Ph.D progrmame must possess any of the following in addition to O’Level Credit Passes in English and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/Institute:

  1. A Master’s degree with a CGPA of 50 on a 00 point scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale or its equivalent in the relevant areas from OAUor any recognized University.
  2. Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognize/approve.

PGD, M.Tech/Ph.D PROGRAMMES IN BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

10.0 GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENT

All candidates must have five credit passes at O’level including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one from the following geography, biology, agricultural science, economics technical drawing and fine/applied arts.

11.0 Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Building Technology

  1. All candidates must meet matriculation requirements including five O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Any One from the Following Geography, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics Technical Drawing and Fine/Applied Arts.
  2. Holders of HND with minimum of Lower Credit in Building or any other related field from a recognized
  3. First degree in Building, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Any Other related discipline except (B.Ed) from a recognized University, with a minimum of Third Class Degree.
  4. A good bachelor degree with at least Second Class Honors in other related disciplines.

M.Tech/Ph.D in Building Technology in the following available options:

  1. Construction Management
  2. Building Services
  3. Building and Facilities Maintenance Management
  4. Building Structures
  5. M.TECH in Building Technology

Candidates with good B.Tech or B,Sc (Hons) Degree in Building with at least Second Class Lower Division or any other related discipline from a recognized university in Nigeria will be eligible for admission into the M.Tech programme provided they certify the O’level credit requirements. Applicants with PGD certificate in addition to their degree certificate can apply for consideration.

  1. Ph.D in Building Technology

Candidates with a good M.Sc/M.Tech Degree from a recognized university in Nigeria with at least weighed score of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 scale are eligible to apply for a Ph.D Programme in Building.

12.00 PGD, M.Tech/Ph.D in Urban and Religion Planning

All candidates must have five credit passes at O’Level including English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two from the following Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Economics, Technical Drawing and Fine/ Applied Arts.

  1. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD) IN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING
  2. All candidates must meet matriculation requirements including five O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and two other subjects from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Economics, and Technical Drawing, fine /Applied Arts.
  3. Holders of HND with a minimum of Lower credit in Town Planning or any other related field from a recognized Polytechnic.
  4. First degree in Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Engineering or any other related discipline (except B.Ed) from a recognized University, with a minimum of third class degree.
  5. A good Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Honours in other related disciplines- Geography, Sociology etc.

13.00 MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY (M. Tech) IN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNNING

Candidates applying for the Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Urban and Regional Planning programmes must possess any of the following qualifications in addition to O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Economics, Technical Drawing, Fine/ Applied Arts and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department.

  1. Tech degree Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ifeor its equivalent from any other recognized University.
  2. Sc. degree from a recognized University plus a PGD not less than 2.50 CGPA on a 5- point scale and a 2.00 CGPA on a- 4 point scale in Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Engineering as recognized by the Department.

14.0 DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D) IN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

  1. Candidates applying for the programme in Urban and Regional Planning must possess any of the following in addition to O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography any two from Physics, Biology, Agricultural science, Chemistry, Economics, Technical Drawing , Fine /Applied Arts, and the basic matriculation requirements of the Department.
  2. A Master degree (TechMURP on/ M.sc) in Urban and Regional Planning with a CGPA of 3.50 on a 00 point scale or 2.80 on a 4.00 point scale in any recognized University
  3. Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognized

PGD/M.Sc/Ph.D in Prosthetics and Orthotics

  • PGD in Prosthetics and Orthotics

Candidates for the PGD must possess any of the following:

  1. A Bachelors degree with a third class or second class lower with CGPA of not less than 3.00 on a scale of 5.00 in Prosthetics and Orthotics
  2. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Prosthetics ad Orthotics and occupational therapy from a recognized institution with a minimum of lower credit
  3. Bachelors degree in related science Rehabilitation sciences, other medical sciences and relevant Engineering fields (B.Sc./B.Tech, B.Eng) with a minimum of a second class lower degree from a recognized University.
  4. M.Sc in Prosthetics and Orthotics

Candidates applying for M.Sc in Prosthetics and Orthotics programme with options in Clinical and Rehabilitation, Industrial and Material must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements which are five subjects credit passes at WASSCE or O’level in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

  1. A Bachelors Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or Biomedical Engineering Technology with at least a second class honour’s qualification with a minimum of 00 CGPA on 5.00 scale from any recognized and approved University.
  2. PGD in Prosthetics and Orthotics from OAUor any recognized
  3. Ph.D in Prosthetics and Orthotics
  4. Candidates for D in Prosthetics and Orthotics progrmame must possess the following:
  5. Master Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics with CGPA of 3.50 and above in Prosthetics and Orthotics from OAUor any other recognized University.

NOTE: Candidates with Bachelor or Master’s degree in Education (B.Ed and M.Ed) need not apply.

Candidates are advised to apply online while following the procedure given below:

Step 1: Log on to our admission website http://apply.oaunetque.com  

Step 2: Create an online account, as e-mail will be sent with additional details including a system generated password.

Step 3: With the e-mail and password combination, sign in and accurately fill the pages of the application form.

Step 4: Click on Remita to pay the application processing fee.

Ensure that the online form is carefully and correctly filled out.

Candidates should upload the following relevant documents in support of their application online
