NDDC Scholarship 2024/2025: How To Apply, Application Requirements And Courses


The Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) is a federal government agency established by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo in the year 2000 with the sole mandate of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria.


NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship For 2024/2025

NDDC is embarking on a Post-Graduate Foreign Scholarship Programme to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Local Content programme of the current Administration as well as compete globally in various professional fields. This puts NDDC on the list of organisations that gives out scholarships to undergraduate and post graduate students in Nigeria.

The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from recognised Universities in the following fields:

  • Project Management
  • Agriculture
  • Geology
  • Engineering
  • Medical Sciences (M.Sc. Public Health excluded)
  • Computer Science/Technology
  • Geosciences
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Environmental or Gas/Oil Law

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR NDDC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR 2020.

Applicants must have a first degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those wishing to undertake a Master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognised University.

Another prerequisite is that Applicants must have gained admission for a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines above, in a foreign University.

Applicants already enrolled in overseas’ universities are NOT eligible to apply since the core aim of the NDDC would be defeated by such act.

Guarantor’s written consent of good behaviour of the applicant from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community

  • Member of National Assembly
  • Chairman of the LGA.
  • First class traditional ruler.
  • High Court Judge

How To Apply For NDDC Scholarship 2020

Applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).

Applicants must have a valid Admission Letter from a Foreign University.

To apply for the scholarship, which is usually done online, applicants are advised to visit NDDC website (https://www.nddc.gov.ng), with the under listed scanned copies which will be uploaded to NDDC’s website.

A) Recent passport photograph

B) Local Government identification letter.

C) Post Graduate (PG) admission letter from Overseas University.

D) Relevant Degrees from recognised University.

E) N.Y.S.C Discharge Certificate(Original copy)

Also note that successfully completed application forms will be assigned a registration number automatically and applicants are advised to print the hard copy of the on-line generated acknowledgement form and if possible, make photocopies for ease of reference.
